A native of central Illinois, Ms. Sledge received her B.A. in English from Illinois State University before attending law school at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. During law school, Ms. Sledge worked at Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation where she assisted her supervising attorney with divorce and custody cases. After tracking a study in Natural Resources, Ms. Sledge graduated in May 2001 with her Juris Doctor degree. Ms. Sledge moved to northern Colorado shortly after graduation and began working for Phillips Petroleum Company as a contract attorney in their development of coal bed methane gas. When her work with Phillips was complete, Ms. Sledge took the position of associate attorney with a Greeley law firm where she worked primarily in the area of family law. After two years as an associate, she formed her own law firm, Sledge Law, LLC.  In 2013, Ms. Sledge was sworn-in as an Assistant Municipal Judge for the City of Greeley Colorado where she held that position until she became a full-time Assistant County Attorney assigned to the Department of Human Services’ Child Welfare division in 2017.  In 2025, Krea returned to private practice to focus on family law cases and mediation services. 

Ms. Sledge’s work experience is focused mainly on the field of family law, which includes divorce, legal separation, paternity, custody, child support, grandparent visitation, relocation, emancipation, restraining orders, adoption, and Dependency and Neglect cases.  Through her work as a parent’s attorney in Dependency and Neglect cases, Ms. Sledge participated in the Weld County Family Treatment Court where she assisted her clients in regaining custody of their children from the Department of Human Services.  Ms. Sledge has experience with cases involving substance abuse/addiction, spouse/child abuse, termination of parental rights, adoption, co-occurring disorders, and mental health disorders/diseases.  

Ms. Sledge is a mediator in family law cases and brings over twenty years of experience in family law to work with parties in mediation to settle their disputed issues.  

Ms. Sledge is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and of the Weld County Bar Association.  Ms. Sledge is Municipal Court Judge for the Town of Wiggins.  Ms. Sledge served on the Weld County Bar Association board of directors and was President.  She is a member of the Longs Peak Dog Training Club where she served on the Board of Directors and held the office of Vice President.  

In her spare time, Krea can be found riding her Quarter horse along mountain trails with her dog as her companion.
